For me, they're the best, by far, of the chain corporate owned coffee makers. Simply because they are the only ones out of Costa/Starbucks/Cafe Nero/Eat/Pret etc that can actually make coffee.
If you close your eyes and pretend that this place isn't owned by Tescos then it is a pretty good place. The pastries hit the spot, they make really great wraps (the chicken and guacamole is AWESOME), the salads are generous and hearty (the pulled pork and red cabbage is highly recommended but is sometimes a little dry), and there are various breakfast options that look semi healthy.
All in all they have ticked the right boxes for a nice cafe. But it's owned by Tescos. But the coffee is really good. -

A sunny Monday afternoon as I thought to myself, 'I definitely deserve a coffee for getting this far in the week!' Well I managed a whole morning without caffeine, for me that's some kind of record!
First impressions are definitely positive here. Only small with a few seats for sitting in, this place is well-placed to catch London Bridge commuters. Great music on entering (very laid back, puts you at ease) and service with a smile and a chat are all great for making you feel better! Reasonably priced (small latte at 2.30 is Starbucks prices) and every 5th coffee free, how can you complain?! Love a cheeky loyalty card, my wallet is bursting with these :D
Only gets 3 stars off me for the lacklustre coffee. Everyone has their own tastes, I prefer a mellower blend and this is a bit bitter for my tastes. If that's your thing, then this is your place! -

Harris+Hoole continue their expansion and have now opened up on Tooley Street. The space is in a corner right by the newly renovated Tesco store. It is a small space with perhaps 4-6 seats at the window (high chairs) but I would expect that they put up some outdoor seating when it gets closer to spring/summer. The coffee is from Union Hand Roasted and they are good at both espresso based beverages and filter coffee. The service was very quick when I visited but it was not very busy and they were actually 4 people behind the counter.
The place does have the feel of a small independent cafe but as one can suspect it is no coincedence that they are located right by Tesco, with even a door from the Tesco store into the cafe. Tesco are one of the owners of this mini chain of cafes and while perhaps not something I would consider as a benefit I did try the place with an open mind and they do serve good coffee so as long as that is the case I do not mind that Tesco are part owners.
The pastries, sandwiches and other food options look delicious so this is a most welcome addition to the area around London Bridge Station. Especially good to have a coffee place with good opening hours in the area as the others that are good are all closed on Sunday's and the Coffee Hatch is basically only open 4 hours a day on weekdays so I will be a frequent customer. -

Hands down, the nicest and friendliest baristas in the business. With their app you can check-in, order your favorite drink and upon arrival they greet you by name. It's like Cheers the TV show but with coffee.
If you're looking for personalized, courteous service with a friendly smile this is where to start or break your day, y'all. This American Southerner in London loves H+H and I think you will too. Cheers! -

Don't be daunted by the Tesco ownership, great coffee is great coffee and it keeps calling me back to Harris+Hoole.
The Tooley St. branch of Harris+Hoole opened a few months back with the renovation of the Tesco Metro downstairs. Its a small shop in the corner 99% dedicated for take-away coffee and snacks. There are a few seats next to the window, but its not a comfortable place to sit around in.
The coffee they use is Union Hand-Roasted (yummy), and they seem to know their equipment. So the result is excellent lattes, cappuccinos and flat whites. There is also a generous loyalty card where every seventh coffee is free (regardless of the size).
Sweet and savory pastries look delicious and there are often some tasters to tempt you into having something to snack on while you enjoy your coffee.
H+H also opens already at 6am, so it is the perfect place to pick up something for the way when heading out early.
